Dr. rer. pol. Fabian Walke is a former CEO and Professor of Business Informatics who conducts research as a habilitation scholar in the field of information systems at the Cologne Center for Information Systems (CIIS), University of Cologne. He received his doctoral degree from the University of Hagen (Dr. rer. pol.) and his diploma (master) from the Technical University of Darmstadt, with a focus on computer science.
He has more than 15 years of experience in information technology and management, including public-sector and industry leadership roles. He has also served as a researcher at the ABD Institute in Hagen, a lecturer at several universities of applied sciences, and a visiting researcher at ESADE Business and Law School in Barcelona. His profile includes an ICT Innovative start-up competition award, several patent applications and inventions, reviewer activities for information systems conferences, and successful acquisition and management of third-party funding.
He also has extensive teaching experience in information systems and business informatics, covering areas such as data analytics, business information systems, usability, business intelligence, information management, and fundamentals of business informatics. His teaching profile is complemented by advanced training in higher-education didactics, including the Hochschuldidaktik NRW certificate 'Professional Teaching Competence for Higher Education'.
